How we maintain frequency of generator in thermal power plant?

Q. How we maintain frequency of generator in thermal power plant?

Ans. its based on turbine also which operates on load mode when connected to grid. the speed on turbine is matched by couplings based on its speed ratio. frequency varies from 47 to 53 which is for fractions of secs. uses droop control method which is situated in main panel board..

Modern generators (in thermal power plants)typically produce 500- 600 megawatts ... andelectronic equipment we use depends on voltageand frequency remaining ... The grid (system)frequency (50-hertz) is maintained to veryclose limits

Yes AVR is not at all related to frequency .freq of generator is automatically controlled after synchronization with grid supply via governor by putting woodword governor toggle switch in enable mode

AVR actually maintains the Reactive Power. Before synchronisation frequency goes on increasing w.r.t. Steam entered into the turbine. But after synchronisation with the grid frequency is in accordance with the grid frequency and practically there is no cotrol over the frequency.
